TOUR DAY BY DAY

Day 1 – "The Little Venice"

Begin a day with the fancy italian coffee in the main square of the historic town Trieste. Cross the border to Slovenia and visit the Moon Bay, the beach with the bluest water and whitest rocks, under the big cliff of Strunjan’s Natural Park. Indulge yourself to the stories of Venetians in the charming small Piran, also called “The Little Venice”. Charming just like Venice, but much less crowded.

Day 2 – Peaceful Salina Natural Park

After a wonderful morning spent in Piran, bike through the summer seaside tourist resort Portorož and know the traditional way of harvesting salt in Sečovlje Salina Natural Park. Enjoy the peaceful marine spa and listen to the voice of seagulls before paddling up for the breathtaking views over the Gulf of Piran. Bike to the inlands, learn about the Istrian culture and visit Grožnjan, the lively town of artists.

 

Day 3 – Spectacular Istrian cuisine

From the gorgeous Grožnjan bike to the marvelous Motovun and find the Venetian Winged Lions on the numerous walls. If you are lucky, there is one of the cultural festivals going on right now! Treat your taste buds to the spectacular Istrian cuisine and do not forget to stop in the small taverns for a glass of the Istrian wine. Enjoy the ride through the green vineyards and visit small churches on the way to learn about the Istrian religious life.

 

Day 4 – Holiday spa of the Ancient Romans

Wake up with the smell of sea-salt in your nose again. Visit the cute little towns of the Croatian coast, full of details left by the Ancient Romans. Get impressed by the white ancient walls, narrow ancient streets and always sunny weather! Look at the beautiful marinas and paddle the three kilometers long promenade. Did you know that the rich people of Roma were once coming to these towns for their luxurious holidays?

 

Day 5 – Panoramic view!

Spend the day in the peaceful valley of Dragonja, the transboundary river that separates Croatia from Slovenia. Bike right on the border along the river and get fresh in its fresh pools. Test your fitness and bike up to the cute inland villages for the most unique views in the world. You would see three countries, green vineyards of the Istrian hills, blue Adriatic and the highest rocky mountains of Julian Alps at the back – the best panoramic photo!

Day 6 – "Nasvidenje!" to Koper

After last breakfast, we'll have time to discover the Natural reserve of Skocjanski zatok. Surrounded by hundreds of birds, admire the famous Istrian bull named "boskarin" and the old breed of Camargue horses coming from France. And before we say slovenian "nasvidenje",  enjoy a cup of coffee on a patio of the Venetian Loggia palace, in the Koper's old town.

Day 1 – The great chamber of cave secrets!

Start your tour with some great italian coffee on the main square of historical Trieste. Take the mediteranean road past the remains of a roman theatre and marvelous Miramare Castle which rises just up from the sea reefs. Amaze yourself with cycling through the tunnels of the former railway to the hills, embraced by panoramic views of the sea on the one handside and mountains to the other. Enrich yourself with stories from the Austro-Hungarian and Napoleon eras and finally get to the majestic beauty of the Grotta Gigante, inscribed in The Guiness World of Records as one with the biggest underground chamber in the world.

Day 2 – Real treatment!

Cycle through the picturesque small villages like Dutovlje, Štanjel and Štorje, and stop at the butique wine cellars for the unique experience! Listen to the local people's old stories from their vineyards and share a glass of an exquisite slovenian wine with them. And before treating yourself with the slovenian finest poetry, treat your taste buds with some homemade bread, local prosciutto and other mediteranean flavours.

Day 3 - The Slovenian pride!

Take a walk through the history of Slovenian pride, dating back to 1580 and meet the cradle of Lipizzaners, the glorious and elegant white horses. Indulge in stories of Slovenian soldiers of the First World War in the defence tower encompassing the quarters of the Millitary Museum. And at the end of the day, get completely stunned by the inspiring Škocjan caves, Slovenian and UNESCO world heritage.

Day 4 – The biggest cave castle in the world

Put your fitness to the test and enjoy the landscape changing fast. From the sea to the hills and down to the lowlands. On the way, get amused by anecdotes of the »karst windy friend« called burja that overturns even trucks. Explore the biggest cave castle in the world, built up in the stone walls at the entrance of the Postojna cave. Take the train for the unforgettable journey to the branching undergrounds full of legends

and mysteries.

Day 5 – The Green Capital of Europe, Ljubljana

Pass through the green boulevard of Napoleon to find treasures of Ljubljana, the old Roman Emona. Travel 5200 years to the past and learn how the pile dwellers once built their houses in the Ljubljana Marsh lands. Enriched with precious experience, park your bike in the charming streets of the green capital and enjoy the famous architecture and its lively surroundings!

Day 6 – Wave a Dragon Goodbye

Before we say the last goodbye, let's take a short morning hike up to the Ljubljana Castle to take the panoramic group photo and meet the legendary dragons. Enjoy the last cup at the Castle Coffee House on the top of the green capital and wave a dragon goodbye.

Day 1 – Magnificent views from the Karst Edge

Start your tour from the historic old town of Koper and bike to the green estate of Škocjan Natural Reserve for some birdwatching! Paddle to the inland and enjoy the butique villages, built under the majestic walls of the Karst Plateu. Learn about the culture and religion of local people and visit the beaufitul rock-shelters of Sočerga.

Day 2 – Stories from the seabed

Fill your lungs with the healthy mediteranean air and rest your eyes on the blue Adriatic sea. Indulge yourself to mysterious stories about the huge ship, lying under the Gulf of Koper since the Second World War. Visit the charming small Piran, also called “The Little Venice” and listen to the seagulls cry from the salt pans of Strunjan.

Day 3 – Castles and towers on the Karst cliffs

Bike up to the oldest village in Slovenia called Osp, lying under the stunning cliffs. Visit the Slovenian famous climbing area and enjoy the Old Castle rock of Črni Kal. Push the church belfry of Črni Kal and get the picture of a “leaning belfry”. After some great paddling, rest your eyes on the Gulf of Trieste from the marvelous Socerb Castle.

Day 4 – Great flavors of Istrian olive oil

Treat yourself with the exquisite drops of Istrian olive oil and have a glass of wine with the kindhearted locals. Learn about the rich history of the oil and salt harvesting by visiting Tonina House and the peaceful salt pans of Sečovlje Salina Park. Spend your afternoon cycling along the river Dragonja and stretch your legs in its fresh pools.

Day 5 – The seashells graveyard and stunning views

Take the coastline road and paddle through the green estate of camp Adria. Discover the “Pokopališče školjk” (eng. seashells cemetery), the long beach of dead seashells in the outskirts. Visit the health holiday resort Debeli Rtič just on the border with Italy and feel the real spirit of vacation. Test your strength and gain the best reward of an adventurer – stunning views on the endless blue Adriatic, embraced by the three countries.

Day 6 – Tiny Izola and the seagull's goodbye

Take a short last paddling to Izola, a little old town and, lots of people say, also the perfect place to live. Small shops with local goods offer the last chances to bring your friends some traditional souvenirs. After some shopping and before we say goodbye to the seagulls, spend a moment in one of the coffee shops, sitting just next to the sea and the small fishing boats.
