TOUR DAY BY DAY

Day 1 – Embraced by the Julian Alps

Start the day from the heart of the Slovenian Julian Alps, Lake Bohinj, nested in the beautiful glacial valley. Take a cable car to the starting point and enjoy a 3.5 hour hike in the green wonderland. Pay attention on the highest mountain Triglav, with its three peaks and look back for the spectacular view on the lake. Keep an eye out for the company of various Alpine animals, neatly climbing on the steep rocks.

Day 2 – Listen to the cowbells ringing

Find the Sport Center of Pokljuka, where the Biathlon World Cup Championship is held every year. Hike away from the urban world and spend some precious time on one of the peaceful Slovenian plains, the summertime pastures. Meet the herdsmen on Planina Zajamniki and try their homemade traditional cheese.

Day 3 – Stone carved creations

Hike the valley of Voje and visit the monument of the »Four brave men«, who were the first people to actually survive the climb on the highest Slovenian mountain, Triglav. Step into more than 700 year old church of St. John the Baptist. Explore the dazzling Mostnica Gorge and get inspired by its crystal clear water pools, a little scary narrow gorges and various natural stone-carved creations.

Day 4 – A poem to the waterfall

Take the hiking trail up above the Lake Bohinj starting from the typical Alpine village Stara Fužina. Stop by »kozolec«, a symbol of Slovenian countryside architecture, used for drying mowed grass or wheat. Follow the path leading to the appealing Savica Waterfall and listen to the poems written by the finest Slovenian poet France Prešeren. Indulge into the stories of the poem Krst pri Savici (»The baptism at the Savica«), referring to Christianizing Slovenian ancestors, once Slavic pagans.

Day 5 – Bled, the Slovenian pearl

Visit Bled, the symbol of Slovenia - the most scenic island with a church standing in the middle of the lake and a marvelous castle on the cliff. Walk the lake’s coastline and hike up the castle path to get the most symbolic view photo of Slovenia. Take the boat “pletna” to the island and ring a church bell to make your wish come true.

Day 6 - SUPer morning!

Spend the last morning at the beach of peaceful Lake Bohinj and have a great fun with us. Before saying goodbye, jump the last time in the very-fresh alpine water, go for kayaking or canoeing. Have you ever tried Standing Up Paddle? Find your balance and paddle far away from the beach. It is extremely peaceful and meditating. Especially when you are embraced with majestic mountain peaks.
